ta-ku - “notice”

Our old pal from across the planet Ta-ku asked us to put together a visualizer for his latest single. We had no idea what a visualizer was, so we figured we’d give it a shot.

The song itself is a very emotional endeavor - even for Ta-ku, a categorically somber sound-scapist at times - drawing from his time with his father as a child. We gathered whatever relics of the 90’s we could find to piece together a hyper-realistic replica of Ta-ku’s bedroom growing up, and got our hands on a location with a perfectly preserved kitchen of a bygone era that we can now prove we were not shooting an adult film in (shoutout our hesitant Airbnb host).

Having spent a lot of time with Ta-ku on tour around the globe, Johnny has gotten to know him well enough to know the delicate nature of this part of his upbringing, so being able to visually bring that to life as accompaniment to a very personal piece from Ta-ku was an honorable experience.
